On Monday the federal Small Business Administration approved Ford County and all neighboring counties for disaster assistance following the destructive flooding which struck on August 12.
Three different types of low-interest loans are available for businesses and non-profits, as well as renters and homeowners who suffered damages from the flooding.

There will be a Disaster Loan Outreach Center set up at the fire station in Gibson City starting on Thursday and running through September 9, to help walk applicants through the process. The center is located at 115 S. Lawrence Street, and will be open on Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Information is also available from the SBA Customer Service line by calling 1-800-659-2955.
